Just For Moms
Dr. Cooper provides specialized cosmetic options that will help correct post-maternity breast and body imperfections. Pregnancy and breastfeeding may often result in sagging breasts (ptosis), excess abdominal fat, loss of abdominal muscular tone and stretch marks. Several operations can be tailored to each female patient's body, rejuvenating her appearance.
Breast Lift (Mastopexy) and/or Breast Augmentation
After pregnancy, women are often left with decreased breast volume, sagging breasts (ptosis), and drooping nipples. A breast lift (mastopexy) can restore a more youthful appearance to the breasts. During this procedure, the skin envelope is tightened and the breast tissue is reconfigured, making the breasts look firmer and fuller. Dr. Cooper works with each patient and their unique anatomy to determine the best surgical technique to use. An incision is made around the areola, and sometimes vertical and possibly horizontal skin incisions are used to resculpt the breast tissue. You may also choose to undergo breast augmentation in order to restore lost volume.
Breast Reduction
After pregnancy, breasts may remain larger than they once were. The weight may result in more sagging (ptosis). You may be considering a breast reduction to return your breasts to their pre-pregnancy size. If you are experiencing neck, shoulder, back or breast pain, a breast reduction may be right for you. Decreasing the size of your breasts can reduce the occurrence of these symptoms. Rashes between or under the breasts and grooving of the shoulders from bra straps are other indications for this operation.
Tummy Tuck (abdominoplasty)
The abdomen is one of the most noticeable areas to undergo significant changes after pregnancy. Pregnancy may have left you with loose skin, stretch marks and a separation of your abdominal muscles, making your abdomen look full. Some patients find that this "pooch" never goes away, despite the many sit-ups and ab exercises they do. A tummy tuck operation will flatten and contour your abdomen by removing excess fat and skin. The abdominal muscles are also tightened to eliminate lower abdominal fullness.
Liposuction
New mothers sometimes find extra areas of fat in the lower abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, or buttocks. These fat deposits do not always respond to diet and exercise. Liposuction has the ability to improve the body contour in these areas after childbirth. Liposuction helps patients enhance their natural curves and look and feel slimmer.
