Botox

What is Botox?

Botox has revolutionized facial rejuvenation. Botox injections offer a great way to safely and rapidly reduce facial wrinkles without having an operation. Botox uses a special chemical to temporarily paralyze the small facial muscles that contribute to wrinkle formation. In order to provide his patients with safety and precision, Dr. Cooper performs all Botox injections himself.

Areas to be Treated

Are you bothered by that furrow you see between your eyes? Many patients tell Dr. Cooper that they are tired of appearing "angry." After a Botox treatment, you'll see that troublesome area between your eyes smooth out. Patients also enjoy great results when Botox is used to treat wrinkles found on the forehead and ones found around the eyes that many call "crow's feet."

The Procedure

Each treatment uses a very tiny needle to apply Botox into the desired area. The procedure takes several minutes and does not require an anesthetic, although a cooling treatment may be used before the injection. Pain is minimal and short-lasting.

Recovery after Botox

Occasionally, patients will have a very small amount of bruising, but patients return to work the same day.

Results

Most patients will notice that the treated wrinkles will decrease or disappear altogether within a couple days. Some patients do not see complete results for up to 2 weeks. The results typically last 3 to 6 months.
